Small ship, easy on and off in ports, good itinerary, very good cabin attendant and butlers, good itinerary, excellent shows, Prime 7 always good in food and serviceCONS
The coffee was almost undrinkable - tasted like dirty water, service in dining room sorely lacking. Food in main dining room very inconsistent. Overall not good value for money.RECOMMENDED
NoHaving sailed on other Regent ships this one does not measure up in terms of service, food or hardware. It is the oldest ship in the fleet and it shows. However, Regent makes it clear that the ship size has many loyal customers that like the size. I like the size as well but there are other options in this category that are much better.

Service is top notch!CONS
Navigator needs to be dry docked and renovated. It's an old and tired looking ship. The chairs in the Coffee Connection need to be replaced ASAP. We witnessed 5 guests roll backwards in the chairs. They were very lucky no serious injuries occured.RECOMMENDED
YesThe cruise was fabulous, with service outstanding in every department. We felt the food was not up to par with a previous cruise we took to the Mediterranean cruise we took several years ago. Although the entertainment was very good, we felt it was not as good as on the Marina cruise to the Med several years ago. We would not book the Navigator ship again because of its age and need for refurbishment, but would love to book another cruise on a newer ship in Regent's fleet. The Grandeur ship sounds amazing!! Thank you for an amazing journey!!

There was nothing to criticize. I would have to get very picky to find something to complain about.CONS
Being very picky about my ice cream preferences ( Ben and Jerry's or Hagen Daz) I found the ice cream not creamy enough and sometimes icy.RECOMMENDED
NoRegent has upped their game in terms of friendliness of all the staff members and willingness to be flexible if needed. Since they are all inclusive, everyone seemed to be participating in everything. They also seem to be attracting a younger clientele than in previous years. This was an active itinerary with only one day at sea and lots of wonderful ports. We couldn't get into Corner Brook, Newfoundland due to icebergs, so the Captain substituted Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island which was a great improvement in my opinion. It was a fabulous port.

Itinerary changes not communicated properly, both before sailing and during the voyageRECOMMENDED
No<div>The staff and crew of the Navigator went out of their way to remember everyone's names and personal preferences for dining and beverages, which made the cruise much more enjoyable. The food/wine/cocktails were outstanding, as was the entertainment and the resident lecturer who talked about the ports and history of each one.</div> <div> </div> <div>The changes that were made to the itinerary were unfortunate but not to be helped due to various circumstances, but the changes could have been communicated to the passengers farther in advance and with more detail. Also certain shore excursions could have had more flexibility built in for folks to have more independent time in ports if they wanted.</div>

No<div>The charisma and charm of the Navigator is unbeatable. Beautiful wood and decor and easy to get around. We started and ended the cruise with 2 sea days on each end. Perfect for relaxing. The next 9 days were amazing ports every day! The shore excursions offered by Regent were amazing and there were choices for both young and older guests. As usual, the Compas Rose was amazing! Perfect menus selections every night and the staff and waiters were one step above perfect! The food was the best ever and did not disappoint anyone. Prime 7 alternative dining was not as good as the other dining options. All guests I spoke to agreed on this. It did not live up to the expectations as presented by Regent.RECOMMENDED
NoFrom the L'Occitane toiletries in the marble bathroom w tub and separate shower to the comfy pillow top bed with luxurious duvet bedding, the cabin on the Navigator offers 5* quality. The gourmet food served in the Compass Rose and Setti Mar is outstanding (and even the burgers at the pool grill were delicious). Whether at the pool, in one of the venues, or room service , the staff was attentive, quick and competent - and always polite and happy to assist. Guest average age was about 60 and included an extremely diverse group of people, many of whom are very well seasoned travelers (one with 900 days of cruising !).

VERY small things, e.g. I'm very short and used my ice bucket as a set to get onto the bed. Having a small step in the closet for use as needed would be great.RECOMMENDED
YesThis was my 6th Regent cruise, and I've already booked my 7th and purchased advance deposits for two more. I love the all inclusive approach, really enjoy having a crew all of whom seem happy to be there, and appreciated all that this cruise line is doing to keep their passengers and crew healthy. Regent has added more itineraries with a 25% solo supplement, which is a huge plus for me now that I've returned to travel after my husband (50 years together) passed away in 2020. They've also improved their wifi considerably so that we had coverage for much of the time that we were in the Amazon. Being able to purchase streaming levels of wifi bandwidth at a very reasonable price was also a huge plus. I have some mobility issues which makes selecting shore excursions a challenge, but the onboard destinations team worked hard to help me make the best available choices. It was a truly wonderful trip.

Smaller ship with fewer passengers. Attractive, clean, well-maintained. Cheerful, accommodating, hardworking staff and crew. Excellent food, wine and cocktails. Attractive stateroom, King bed, comfortable mattress and pillows, luxurious linens. Quality bathroom amenities. Espresso machine in stateroom. All-inclusive features — pre-cruise hotel package, transfers, unlimited shore excursions, free WiFi, etc.CONS
Scaled down stateroom and balcony due to smaller size of ship. Smaller closet requiring creative use of available space. Insufficient number of standard electric outlets, so charging devices and camera was a challenge. Outlet in bathroom could not be used for hairdryer. Some (not all) of the shore excursions were disappointing and did not meet expectations due to performance of the tour guide, boring itinerary, and in one instance, an inferior meal.RECOMMENDED

My favorite ports were Phillip Island and seeing the Penguin Parade and taking a seal watching cruise; and visiting Kangaroo Island and the animal sanctuary was another highlight. Excellent cruse line and well trained staff...There were no overheard complaints about shore excursions, dinner reservations or food.CONS
If I had to point out something that was not completely clear according to some guests, was the fact that a ship the size of any of the RSSC fleet would not go through the new larger canal. It is for the mega freighters only. We also had a rough crossing of the Gulf of Mexico but guests took it in stride.RECOMMENDED
No<div>Regent Seven Seas always has excellent lecturers and with many sea days on this itinerary there were 2. They kept the guests engaged with daily lectures on sea days. This itinerary was perfect for guest who have seen most of the Caribbean. There was also the always welcome bock party with guest gathering in the hall while a very fast Captain and crew raced through the halls with wine and champagne.</div> <div>Days were extra full of activities and classes and the weather was a beautiful 80ish degrees with low humidity so the pool was well attended. YesThe Navigator is definitely a 6 Star Ship and very upscale in everything they do. The facilities are above board and well staffed with trained people. We had a close departure flight and the destination desk took charge days ahead of time. I was called the night before and again on the departure morning advising me of the ship’s docking status, the disembark ramp and where to take our suitcases. We were the first off the ship, cleared customs and jumped into a reserved limo. the ship had arranged. We were to the airport on time and flight departed on schedule. That was really an added touch to a super, fun cruise.

No<div>Regent did an amazing job keeping 394 passengers in the holiday spirit for 35 days from Cape Town to Miami. This was a Smithsonian Journey, so the lecturers were relevant to the cruise and very interesting. It was a long cruise, but the food choices were varied, as well as the activities, so people didn't get bored. This was a nice way to spend the holidays.</div>

YesWell run operation. Biggest stateroom in veranda category that we've had in over 14 cruises. Clean, well maintained. Truely all inclusive. Only extra expense was laundry. Very pleasant, professional staff. On itinerary. Gythion and Argostoli were OK, but there are other destinations that might have been better (like Mykonos).

No<div>Upon boarding the Navigator one can gets the feeling that you are entering one of the Grand Vessels from days of the past. The rich woods, the feeling of "old" elegance just surrounds you. This was one of the last cruises before she goes into dry dock in order to get a complete makeover. However, I was assured that the "old world" charm & elegance would be maintained. Let's hope. :) In any event, to a person the staff and crew are some of the best in the world!</div>

This is the age of connectivity. We had a frustrating experience with wi-fi on board. We have signed up for two more trips with Seaborne but will cancel if this situation isn't addressed. Too much time spent on land trying to make needed contacts.RECOMMENDED
YesWe must recommend the Colonade Maitre D, Antonio Libassi and server Filipo, for their outstanding work. Everyone wishes that they had such good workers. They stood out amongst your great employees. The addition of Eco-zodiac excursions seemed to have a lot of interest amongst the younger (under 65) crowd.

Regent is wonderful. Staff, food and entertainment are the best. Cabins are spacious, beds are sooo comfortable.CONS
The Navigator was too small. We had two days of rough water that would not have been a problem on a larger ship. There was also a lot of vibration in parts of the ship, particularly in our cabin (855).RECOMMENDED
NoI would not cruise on the Navigator again, but would definitely cruise again on Regent's Mariner or Voyager, and would love to try the new Explorer. Traveling through the Panama Canal was great, but the ports of call on this cruise weren't so good (Central America). Also, I did not like so many sea days - maybe because the Navigator was too small. I would definitely recommend Regent and Holliday Cruises and Tours to anyone.

No<div>Monday morning after breakfast we checked out of the hotel and caught a taxi to the port. There were several ships in town but ours was easy to spot. Check in was easier than I imagined. With only 600 passengers it went smoothly. Regent Seven Seas has a very high repeat rate and about 30 percent of the people on board had gotten on the cruise in San Francisco coming through the Panama Canal to continue to see the fall colors. Our suite (lowest category on the ship) was spacious with a large window, walk in closet, nicely appointed bathroom, king bed and sitting area. Mini bar was stocked with sodas and beer. We could ask to the cabin steward for whatever we wanted and he would supply and replenish it. SWEET! We departed NYC about 8 pm heading for Newport RI, Boston MA, Portland Or and then into Canada. Dress code is elegant casual meaning no jeans or flip flops after 6 pm. Every bar had hot and cold appetizers with your pre dinner drinks with piano player for entertainment. No cards or signatures required. Dinner is open seating and we never had to wait more than a few seconds to be seated. Wait staff were all friendly and accommodating and the food was spectacular! The shore excursions were also included with a few options for more extensive tours at an additional cost. We chose the basic tours and were happy with most of them. Newport, Boston, Portland and St Johns were all very good historic walking tours. In Halifax we chose the Brewery tour as my husband, Jeff loves craft beers. We were disappointed that our guide, donning an authentic kilt, walked passed many sights without mentioning the significance. He rushed us to the brewery and the tour guides there took over. It was a lively enactment of the times and we enjoyed the entertainment. Beer was not the best however it was presented nicely. In Sydney there was not much to see and it was Sunday so most of the shops were closed. The tour was slow paced and wondered if the guide embellished the history to make it more interesting than it really was. In Saguenay, it was 40 degrees when we arrived. We walked into to town to get a few things at the pharmacy and considered not going on our tour. I obviously did not have the proper attire for this temperature. We opted to go anyway and we were VERY glad we did. This was the peak of the fall colors and we were on a walk through the Fjords National Park. The air was crisp and fresh but the colors were amazing! I grew up in western Canada and lived in Boston for 4 years and it still was breathtaking for me. Quebec City was a beautiful European looking city and we also visited the falls there that are higher than Niagara. Entertainment on the ship was a little disappointing. There were two piano players for pre and post dinner entertainment in separate bars. I would have liked a little more variety. There was a Broadway type show the first night and it was good. The stage manager had been called away for a personal issue and the shows had to be rescheduled for the rest of the trip. The entertainment department’s plan B for the rest of the cruise consisted of a comedian, that was very funny, a ventriloquist, that was good but did not have a good act, and our Cruise Director entertained us with her little song and dance which was also good. Three nights they showed a movie on the big screen in the show lounge. I was a little surprised that they did not have a replacement for the stage manager should something like this happen. The Spa looked nice but I did not schedule a treatment. There was a guest lecturer and wellness seminar to attend as well as fitness classes if you were so inclined. You can watch the lectures in your cabin, which I did while I was getting ready for the day. Our cabin steward was fabulous! We never saw him unless we wanted to. The room transformed ever morning and afternoon miraculously. Refreshed fruit each day as well. No hallways full of dirty dishes or laundry – all was very discreet. The guest laundry was across the hall and I was concerned it would be noisy but just found it to be very convenient to press a shirt or do a quick load. Laundry soap provided and no cost to use the machines. Pool grill was a great alternative to the restaurant or buffet for lunch. They served sandwiches, grilled burgers and a specialty item each day. Coffee, cappuccino and cookies were available all day long. All in all this was a wonderful cruise and since we were shadowed by a Princess ship for most of the itinerary, it was especially nice to not be in any lines at any time which we could see was an issue with them. I would highly recommend this for clients that want a more intimate experience without being nickel and dimed. Since there are not a lot of activities on board, it may not be appropriate for younger active clients that like night life, dancing and great entertainment.</div>

YesWe had a wonderful vacation with beautiful weather. We have been on several cruises and have never experienced the consistently high level of service provided by the crew of the Navigator. The food was superb. The Shore Excursions were well-planned and, for the most part, very good. Two of the buses we were on had problems with the microphone so it was difficult to hear the Tour Guides. Another tour was 30 minutes late leaving and that caused other delays in the activities that were planned for the day. We highly recommend the tour of Fortress Louisbourg in Sydney, Canada and the Cultural Show La Fabuleuse in Quebec City. Our favorite entertainers on board were Jimmy Travis, Margaret Lynn (Cruise Director), and the Krew Kapers. Unfortunately, the Broadway Show had to be cancelled because the Production Manager had an emergency and had to leave.

No<div> The ship has a warmth and welcoming atmosphere. The heart seems to be Navigator Lounge and library across the hall. Unfortunately, they could be a bit larger. Wonderful pianist in the evening during cocktail hour in the Lounge. No doubt there is a reason but I feel it is unfortunate that the spa has such a prime location (forward) while the Galileo's Lounge, which is great, is nevertheless in the aft of the ship. I know people who won't sail on the ship because there is no observation lounge. Service throughout the ship was excellent with the possible exception of a few waiters in La Veranda who didn't seem happy. Those on reception desk were especially helpful and went out of their way to solve problems. The cuisine was excellent. Although Prime 7 is always a treat, I do think dining in Compass Rose is a treat. Always I look at the Canyon Ranch suggestions, which are generally very good and provide for health eating. It is so great to have such choices It seems to me the quality of the entertainment staff is higher than ever. Some of the ports were obviously great (Newport, Boston, Quebec) but there were ports in areas where we had to drive quite a distance to see the one site that was especially noteworthy (Sydney and Charlottetown, both in Canada. The brand new port of Rockland in Maine turned into a low-key unexpected treat.</div>

NoRegent's Alaska experience on the Navigator is a wonderful one. The small, all-inclusive nature of this cruise creates a very friendly, happy on-board atmosphere. The Navigator has a main dining room - the Compass Rose, a specialty steakhouse - Prime 7, and La Veranda which becomes an Italian restaurant Seti Mara in the evening. Food was great (although a few said that they preferred the food on Oceania). Wines are freely poured and drinks are always available. Ashore, many excursions are included in the cruise fare, but the float plane experiences, helicopter rides, dog sledding come at a hefty additional price. It is worth exploring a land operator separate from Regent for these. This applies especially to the fishing, which many who purchased the ship's experience were disappointed in. The crew is anxious to please at all times, and the staff is truly second to none.
