Charge for internet was, I thought, A little high.RECOMMENDED
YesFirst of all, we were very grateful that RC rerouted us from Haiti to Grand Turk. We appreciate their looking out for our safety. The buffet was superb. We didn't realize it was spring break so didn't expect so many kids onboard. But we found places away from the crowds to sit and enjoy the views. Our cabin steward was beyond helpful. He (I think his name is Hajje) was the sweetest guy. He always answered our questions and needs. The down side was we didn't realize we had to reserve dining room time before boarding. We weren't able to eat in the main dining room unless we wanted 8:45 pm. So it was disappointing to not be able to do this.

Main dining rooms exceptional quality and service. Friendliest cruise staff we have encountered.CONS
Maintenance crews on occasion blocked off portions of deck 4 outside where we like to walk. A minor complaint.RECOMMENDED
YesSuper friendly employees. Exceptional dinner menus and dining staff (a shout out to Mary and Tanaka at table 3 My Time dining…just simply the best). More quality entertainment than you could possibly imagine, from piano bar to ice skating shows to Lyric theater song and dance productions to…….well you get the idea. Plus rock wall, water slides, flow rider and more when you get tired of hangin around the pools. Just a GREAT ship.

YesOnly 2 complaints I had were that we had "joining" rooms attached with a door to a different family that had a screaming toddler all day, every day, and every night. The conjoining door completely took away any sound barrier, you could see their lights coming on and off and the shadows of everyone walking by. The attendant and staff were incredible so it's just a review of that part of the room itself. It was as if the tantrums were in the same room they were so loud and easy to hear. Also the costa maya port was over-packed and made it impossible to enjoy it to a decent extent. I know it had so much potential I'd love to go back but there were three ships there at once that altogether fit upwards of 10-15,000 people at once in the port. We were shoulder to shoulder and had a hard time going into a single store at any point. Everyone I know got immediately sick (some with covid) after visiting that crowded port. That point in the itinerary in terms of joining the other ships was poorly decided however I would still love to go back because the location itself was the most fun and beautiful.

NoExcursions prime reason to sell trinkets. Those marked “mild” were physically difficult. Mayan ruins were not ruins at all. No place for adults to swim. Music too loud. Food in main dining room was poor. Entertainment was poor.

YesThis my first cruise with Royal Caribbean and my daughter's first time remembering being on a cruise. Her first time was when she was two. This whole vacation because of her she really wanted to go on one. We both had a great time. She really enjoyed the free pizza and ice cream bar as well as the arcade. The servers at our dinner time were amazing and spoiled us so much. We also enjoyed the ice skating show, mini golf and rock climbing. The weather at times were gloomy but it is that time of year for tropical storms so next time I'll take a cruise during my winter and my destination.

YesWE were very disappointed when Halifax was dropped from our cruise itinerary AFTER we had paid. I sent a letter to Royal Caribbean and never had the courtesy of a reply. Not good customer service. St John should be dropped from the itinerary. It's a dead city and most all stores in the Marketplace and nearby shopping center were shuttered. (out of business).

Food is very mediocre at best. The ship is showing some age.RECOMMENDED
YesThe crew on Adventure of the Seas is outstanding with the exception of the Cruise Director who was not our favorite by far. There were plenty of activities and entertainment options. They headliner, a juggler was not great, but the shows with the Royal singers, dancers and band were very good as was the ice show. As far as the ship itself, it is showing its age. It was supposed to be "amplified," but that was cancelled due to COVID and as far as I know has not been rescheduled. The main dining room food was hit and miss. Some dishes were very good, while some were just awful. The food in the WIndjammer buffet was OK at breakfast, but not very good for lunch. One whole section of the grill portion was closed at the busiest times. Chops and Giovani's were both excellent. All in all, we had a good time, but we much prefer the Oasis and Quantum class ships. Adventure was fine for a fine night cruise, but don't think we would sail on a Voyager class ship that has not been amplified.

YesWe had a great time but the worst thing about the whole cruise experience was the stale smoke smell on the 4th level which houses a bar area with much of the ships quiz activities ect. Also located on that level is Chops Grill that is a great restaurant and our favorite (by far) place to eat on the ship. The smoke smell from cigars and cigarettes was so bad whenever you entered that level you almost instantly held your breath or it was like taking a hit from Mike Tyson. Couldn't believe that Chops was located anywhere near this stench but inside Chops there was no smell of it. If a person went hungry or was bored it wasn't due to a lack of food or activities on this ship. I cannot compare the staff on this ship to any other since it was our first cruise but has to be hands down the most friendly and helpful people I've met in the service industry. We went to all the shows we could and enjoyed all of them. Wish they had an all exclusive package to make it a little less expensive since we bought the deluxe beverage package and had to get it for all people over 21 in the room. I had no idea of drink prices so got the package to be sure there were no charges to me at the end of the cruise and my wife does not drink alcohol so probably would have been cheaper without it.

My husband is in a wheelchair and of all 3 ports of call, there were no tours offered for individuals in wheelchairs. As there were many people on the ship using scooters or wheelchairs, the cruise line has to do a better job of thinking about all of its guests when choosing tours.RECOMMENDED
YesThough this is not one of RCI's newer ships, it was very well maintained. Our stateroom, and accessible one, was spacious and our stateroom attendant took care of all of our requests. We thought that the food in the main dining room was excellent, and the service provided there was also excellent. We enjoyed the shows that we attended, especially the ice skating show.

Karaoke sucked on ship, no selections at all and staff weren't the best on this venue.RECOMMENDED
YesOur main problem for us was "date" selection. No idea it was spring break for 1200 kids on ship out of 3500! Northern US packed them in! Typical things like punching all elevator buttons, taking up hot tub and pools, nothing major. Felt bad for entertainers as studio was never full and sure because parents had to stay with little kids. We loved the ship, one of our best!

YesThe attention to detail during evening dinning was THE BEST that I have ever seen. We were at table 471 and had Head Waiter Hikmah and Asst. Waiter Ashraye. Hikmah was spot on. Not a thing was left unaccounted. They were a GREAT TEAM and made our dining a wonderful part of our cruise. it was more than about the food! Ken, cruise director was not the best I have seen on past Royal Cruises so that is why I am giving this cruise a 4-star and not 5 stars. I feel the cruise director sets the pace and Ken was just not as involved or energetic as I'd have expected or experienced in the past.

Traveling with Rude New YorkersRECOMMENDED
YesThere are so many things to love about The Adventure of the Seas, I'm not sure where to start. As Diamond Plus members my wife and I are not new to Royal, and since we live in California, where Royal is NOT, we've had to travel Princess and thus have a large basis from which to compare the two. There is no comparison. Royal is better, hands down, going away. The food in Royal's buffet, the Windjammer, far, far exceeds what Princess offers in their buffet, not to mention that it's more spacious and easier to navigate. We aren't treated poorly on Princess by the Waite and Service staff, but the friendliness and out going, sincere nature of Royal puts them in a class by themselves. As to the Adventure, it was NICE to once again see a Royal ship WITH a Viking Crown lounge. They've converted many of them to other venues on other ships, that it was a pure joy to go there, and have a quiet place to drink, and talk with friends and family..

YesThe ship was great. Just updated in November 2016. The cabin steward Savio was awesome...he was invisible but available when you needed him. Great water slides, good entertainment. Shopping was just meh. Only one shore excursion, St. Lucia Island Delights, food was not good...Cruise lines could save a lot of money by not having Maitre'D's....they don't do anything. We enjoyed all of the shows and watching the ice skating. The Flowrider was also fun to watch. YesThis was our third time on the Adventure of the Seas. We have been on the Oasis and Allure. While these large ships are beautiful and like a floating resort, the Adventure of the Seas felt like being on a cruise ship. These smaller ships can visit the true caribbean islands that the large ships can't. The staff are more attentive, they all seemed happy to be there and interact with the passengers more so then the staff on the large ships. We have taken many cruises and this was one of our very favorite family cruises. We will definitely return to the Adventure of the Seas.

YesI think the larger and new ships are nicer but that goes with the territory. Once you travel on those you compare the cruise to that. I think the upkeep could be better on an older ship, ex. cleaner windows, light bulbs in that work( esp. the dining area) ..entertainment was good but the regular dance and singing team was not that great. The entertainment that they brought in was very good. If a ship says in the "dining room no shorts, lazy wear" then stick to that for everyone...why should some abide by rules and pack a heavier suitcase and others not. Food was excellent.

Our sailin excursion in Domenica was amazing(we had never been there). Had the best time with Michael and Jill! First time ever that we were allowed to walk on with all of our luggage. That was really nice! Michael and Jill's first cabin was dirty and so they got upgraded to a bigger inside on deck 10. Will speak to you when you return from your vacation. I want to look into the Crystal cruise that sails to Costa del Sol, Canary Islands, and Portugal. If Royal Carib does something similar, I would consider it. Thanks, Debbie

YesAs in our "cons" box, we were disappointed in the quality of food in the main dining room and the lack of personal needed in the buffet area. So without delicious freshly prepared and served food, a large part of the cruising experience is missing. The rest of the cruise was a lot of fun! We did enjoy Johnny Rockets one evening and treated ourselves to unlimited onion rings and fries! No<div>The ship just came out of dry dock, so everything did look good.. nice and shiny and clean. Smelled clean, except for the 28 toilets that backed up on the 6th deck. Total disorganization!! Stood in line for everything you wanted to do or every time you wanted to eat.. luggage didn't arrive till 9:15pm. Crew at the bars, not so nice, purchased the Ultimate drink package but got very little alcohol, bartenders were not very fun at all acted as though we were bothering them.. Room steward, exceptionally nice, he was wonderful at accommodating us, extra tip given to him personally. Grills and restaurants were nice and clean, but the food was mediocre. Entertainment, just so so. The worst part of the cruise was the people on board. I truly expected a higher class of folks, but most were very low class. I was called names by a 30 yr old woman with her 9 yr old daughter... was not a pleasant vacation. Except for our room steward, there was no urgency to please the passengers anywhere.
