SHIP OVERVIEW

Carnival Freedom offers some of the latest and greatest features across the Carnival fleet. As you explore the ship, you’ll find food options galore. Feast your eyes on dining rooms Posh and Chic, and look to Freedom Restaurant on Lido Deck, plus the greatest tacos and burritos this side of the pier at BlueIguana Cantina. For every great food spot, there's a great place to enjoy drinks, too, from the toe-tapping Scott’s Piano Bar to the always-hoppin’ 70’s Dance Club. New libation hotspots include Alchemy Bar (cocktail magic central) and SKYBOX Sports Bar (the 50-yard-line of fun). An outdoor, seaside bar is practically a cruise ship requirement, and everyone’s favorite is here… whether it’s the RedFrog Rum Bar or BlueIguana Tequila Bar. (Or hey, both!) The rum bar's older brother, RedFrog Pub, features drinks, live music and traditional pub games. Topping off adult-time is the one-and-(adult)-only Serenity Retreat, where total relaxation is not only encouraged, but pretty much required. If you’re a kid, Carnival Freedom means you’re in for a treat. Not only will you find new friends at one of three youth spaces — like the all-new Camp Ocean — but you can splash around with them in one of the many pools, speed down the Twister Waterslide, or once you dry off, challenge them to a round of mini-golf. Oh, and adults — don’t get jealous; your inner kid gets to do all this stuff too! Up on stage is Playlist Productions, featuring songs you know… and dance moves you’ll soon be using. And for a chance to get up on stage yourself, there’s Hasbro, The Game Show, where kids of all ages — even you, grandma — compete in larger-than-life Hasbro games come to life! And for the cherry on top… it’s actually called Cherry On Top. It’s the spot for something special, whether that something’s a little something sweet — or simply a little something to sweeten a special occasion.

This was our first cruise and definitely exceeded our expectations!! We are ready to book our next one! The staff was amazing! Great customer service from everyone! From getting on the ship to getting off the ship they were very helpful and organized. We loved Supriyanto and Edaniel that did great on keeping our rooms very clean daily. Adinta, Tinton, and Manisha that always made sure we enjoyed our dinners and always had the best recommendations on what to pick from the daily menu! Couldn't forget about the the best bartender's Benjawan and Prakash always mixing the best drinks to enjoy by the pool or really anywhere;) We can't forget dj TJ that made just everything more fun and always keeping us up with the important announcements.

Amazing Trip!

MAY

Star Star Star Star Star

PROS

The Carnival Freedom was overall amazing. The dining staff really went above and beyond.

CONS

One thing I didn’t appreciate was being ignored at the atrium bar and have to wait 30+ min for a drink when there were only 5 people at the bar. We also didn’t see our cabin steward after the initial introduction, but the steward responsible for the rooms next to us, Aleksandar, alway said hello in the hallways and asked how our day was.

RECOMMENDED

No

<div>The wait staff: Mark, Jun, &amp; Harriet were incredible! Mark was always waiting to walk us to our favorite table each night. Liezle the hostess&rsquo;s always greeted us and knew which table and server we preferred. Emma was an amazing cruise director, she really made the cruise more fun. Neil, Lei Lei, Christian, and Joe also went above and beyond to make sure guests were happy and enjoying themselves.</div>

Enjoyed our trip

MAY

Star Star Star Star Star

PROS

food was good, excursions were very enjoyable

CONS

older ship and the decor was very strange and dark

RECOMMENDED

Yes

We enjoyed this trip and for the most part I rate the Freedom favorably, but the decor of the ship was dark and just didn't have an upbeat cruise vibe. Activites on board were good and the evening entertainment was very enjoyable. Specialty restaurants were excellent. Enjoyed the Blue Iguana Cantina and Guy's Burger Joint. Loved that it was included in the cost of the cruise fare rather than an add on.

Spring Break Family Cruise

APRIL

Star Star Star Star Star

PROS

INCREDIBLE SERVICE! Great Value!

CONS

Better Variety of on-board shows?

RECOMMENDED

Yes

This was my (our) first cruise - took the whole family. My kids loved being able to meet up with other kids the same age (9, 11, 14) and spending the day together. We loved the dinner - every night there was something new, and always something interesting to try! The ports were great - we did some excursions through the cruise line, some not. The staff made the trip! Everybody was helpful and friendly to perfection! This was the best trip I have ever taken...

The Fun Ship Delivers

FEBRUARY

Star Star Star Star Star

PROS

Great bang for the buck. Good food. Great cabin steward.

CONS

Cut backs in staff in all areas, slower service, less WOW factor.

RECOMMENDED

Yes

If you have cruised before then be prepared for a slight let down, it seems to be the Carnival way. Still a great cruise line, just not as polished and spectacular as it was. Every cruise, little things change, lessening the experience. Still a great value and good time. The embarkation process in Galveston was very smooth and fast. The food is always worth the cost alone, but you do get so much more than just food, making the cruise worthwhile. The Carnival Freedom is a comfortable ship, and I love the beds, bedding and pillows. We had a fantastic cabin steward, that made us feel welcome and taken care of. The ports of call are good, lots to see and do. Grand Cayman is always a favorite.

It's not called the "Fun Ship" for nothing!

SEPTEMBER

Star Star Star Star Star

PROS

Great price, great service, great food, great entertainment. A great vacation to get away from it all.

CONS

If you want to buy internet, it is very slow. But, it's vacation, right?

RECOMMENDED

Yes

We paid to take the "Behind the Scenes tour". It was worth the $90. Got to see back stage of the theater and dressing rooms. The engine room. The bridge and even met and got a picture with the captain! Toured the galley where all the delicious food is prepared. It is quite an operation to run a cruise ship so smoothly. Even got some cool souvenir gifts after the tour. Highly recommend it.
