-Fiesta San Antonio - More than 100 unique events satisfy every taste and interest and draw spectators from around the city, nation and world. Since 1891 when the first Fiesta event, the Battle of Flowers, honored the memory of our Texas heroes, Fiesta has expanded the initial commemoration to include the recognition and celebration of San Antonio's rich and diverse cultures.

 

May

-Cinco De Mayo celebrations commemorate the Mexican Army's defeat of the invading French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Events include a festival with music and food at historic Market Square, concerts and other commemorations

-San Antonio New World Wine and Food Festival - Giving wine and food aficionados one more thing to be thankful for this May, the Festival will showcase the Alamo City's finest restaurants and chefs as well as celebrity guests from Mexico, Miami, Manhattan and all over Texas as it celebrates San Antonio as a premier wine and food destination and an important culinary and cultural gateway to Mexico and Latin America.

­-Valero Texas Open - The third oldest tournament on PGA TOUR (originated and played in San Antonio since in 1922). It has been one of the top-three most charitable PGA tournaments on TOUR for the last several years.

 

June

-Texas Folklife Festival hosted at The Institute of Texan Cultures, this three-day cultural extravaganza brings more than 40 ethnic groups together in one place to showcase their authentic food, traditional music and dance and authentic crafts.

 

July

-Fourth of July- Enjoy festivals, concerts and fireworks at locations across San Antonio celebrating Independence Day. Some highlights include Freedom Fest at Market Square, an arts and crafts show along the River Walk and extravaganzas at local theme parks.

 

October

-Wurstfest - A unique celebration rich in German culture and full of Texas fun! During this 10-day salute to sausage, you'll find a variety of entertainment options including a polka contest, games, rides, food and drinks on the Wurstfest Grounds in Landa Park as well as special events throughout New Braunfels and Comal County.

 

November

-San Antonio Rock N' Roll Marathon- This one of a kind marathon features over 70 bands along the course, which passes several historic missions and wraps up at the Alamodome.  

-         Ford Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony- The day after Thanksgiving, the switch is pulled to turn on over 122,000 lights that illuminate the River Walk until New Year's Day. Decorated floats wind through the river in one of the country's only nighttime river parades.

 

December

-Celebrate San Antonio- Ring in the New Year San Antonio style! Enjoy spectacular fireworks, live music on multiple stages, food booths, family activities and more

SeaWorld of San Antonio

Cross the road and head to SeaWorld San Antonio for the park's newest attractions "One Ocean," featuring majestic killer whales as ambassadors of the sea, and the ocean as the center of our natural world. Or take in "Azul," this spectacular show is a journey to a place where beluga whales, Pacific white-sided dolphins, colorful birds, and human acrobats come together in a celebration of sea and sky. Be sure to take the little ones to the Sesame Street "Bay Of Play," where Big Bird, The Count, Abbie Cadabby and the Cookie Monster like to spend their days at the park! Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Located in a former Rock Quarry, the park boasts dozens of roller coasters and rides, plus a selection of states for concerts as well as a water park with numerous water attractions. During the busiest months, guests can also enjoy a nighttime "Lone Star Spectacular" fireworks show as well as a concert series between May and September. The Alamo

Visit the most famous spot in Texas, where 189 defenders fell after repeated attacks by Mexican General Santa Anna's army. Mission San Antonio de Valero (The Alamo) was established in 1718 as the city's first mission. River Walk

Wander this exciting walkway that winds around the banks of the river, a few steps below the streets of the city. A festive feeling surrounds you as you browse through shops, relax at outdoor cafes or meander through tree-lined venues. River cruises are also available.

Tower of the Americas

View the city from more than 550 feet in the air! This tower, original built for the 1968 HemisFair, takes visitors up a glass elevator for a bird's eye look at San Antonio. Attractions of the Tower include a revolving restaurant, observation deck and new 4D movie. 600 HemisFair Park 210-223-3101

Mission Trail

Missions were an integral part of life in the 1700's, created by Spain to serve as the religious, educational, cultural and governmental centers of each community. The cluster of missions here were the foundation for the city of San Antonio. Today, visitors can travel the nine-mile Mission trail to explore the remains of five missions, starting at The Alamo and winding south down the river.

Market Square – El Mercado

This vibrant center of commerce is filled with unique shops, traditional crafts, irresistible local foods and cafes ideal for sipping coffee and enjoying the live mariachi music and dance. North Star Mall

North Star Mall is a shopping mall in San Antonio, Texas, USA with anchor tenants Dillard's, J.C. Penney, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Forever 21. The mall also has over 200 specialty stores, some exclusive to the San Antonio market, including Arden B, Armani Exchange, The Cheesecake Factory, Build-A-Bear Workshop, MAC Cosmetics, Mont Blanc, Oakley, Janie & Jack, just to name a few.

The Shops at La Cantera

The Shops at La Cantera is an upscale open-air regional shopping mall located in far northwest San Antonio, Texas, USA, near the Loop 1604 and Interstate 10 interchange, in the city's La Cantera District.

San Marcos Outlets

The San Marcos Outlet Malls are two discrete outlet malls, the Premium Outlets and the Tanger Factory Outlet Center. Each is located off Interstate Highway 35 in San Marcos, Texas. Combined, the two adjacent malls have more than 350 stores, and an excess of 1,000,000 sq ft. During peak seasons, shoppers at the malls can reach numbers that effectively triple the population of San Marcos. The outlet malls in San Marcos are one of the top tourist attractions in the state.
