Jumby Bay Island features 28 tastefully decorated suites and luxury vacation villas spread across a beautiful private island, two miles off the coast of Antigua.

We’re delighted to announce that 12 fresh, new Ocean View Suites are open for reservations.

The architecture combines traditional and contemporary beach house styles, with lofty ceilings, wide verandas and open-air bathrooms. They capture the indoor, outdoor lifestyle that is so much part of the Jumby Bay experience. There are Junior Suites and two-bedroom Suites with private pool. All of course come with the promised sweep of ocean views.

14 luxury villas and 22 privately staffed Private Residences dotting the 300-acre private island and its' 4.5-miles of pristine shoreline are available for rental. Villas range from 2-4 bedrooms. Pond Bay Villas share a large courtyard and pool and a small private beach. All Harbour Villas feature private pool. Villa guests dine in resort restaurants and have use of personal golf cart(s).

Private Residences range from 4-9 bedrooms, all with large private pool, golf carts, housekeeper, butler and chef. Private Residence guests have the option to dine in resort restaurants at a 25% discount or in-residence with their personal chef, for no additional charge* (charges may apply for any specialty items requested). Often called 'resorts within a resort', most Private Residences are set on multi-acre parcels of land, and many feature a variety of additional private amenities such as beaches, swim and/or boat dock, tennis court, gym, croquet lawn, spa suite, half basketball court, and more.

14 Beachside Suite

Complementing the beautiful island setting, the Beachside Suites are a delightful combination of comfort with luxury. Within view of the beach or ocean, these Caribbean suites are decorated with tropical touches, offering magnificent vaulted ceilings and a sitting area, which opens to a beautifully appointed bedroom. The bathroom contains a dressing area, an indoor rain shower, double vanity as well as an outdoor shower and soaking tub set in a calming private courtyard. Beachside Suites measure 1,100 square feet.
2 Beach Side Pool Suites

An antique privacy gate and entry courtyard welcome guests to this elegant one-bedroom suite. Beautifully appointed with 1,346 sq. ft. of living space, the suite features a grand room with a vaulted ceiling, living area, separate master bedroom with a spacious bathroom and a private outdoor garden with rain shower and tub. Withe the beach or sea within view, and its expansive terrace and a private pool, this is the ultimate retreat for relaxation.
Harbour Beachfront Villa

Two-, Three- and Four-Bedroom private beachfront villas showcase relaxed Caribbean sophistication in a variety of styles. The seven Harbour Beachfront Villas emphasize indoor-outdoor living with dining and lounging spaces, stunning beachfront private pools and magnificent ocean views.

Pond Bay Villa

Two, Three- and Four-Bedroom private villas sharing a large courtyard and pool, and small private beach. Hummingbird also features a private plunge pool.

Allamanda offers a separate entrance, large private pool and services of private chef. Guests may dine in resort restaurants or in-residence with their private chef, for no additional cost (barring any requested specialty items).

2 Estate Suite

The Estate Suite is the most expansive of our one-bedroom accommodations - offering a sophisticated blend of privacy and luxury. An open seating area in the entrance courtyard leads you to a private pool with a spacious wrap-around patio - the perfect spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail. The entry vestibule leads to a spacious living room furnished with all the amenities of home. The private master bedroom contains a spacious bathroom, and an outdoor garden arranged for seclusion , complete with soaking tub and a blissful rain shower. The Estate Suite also offers the option of one or two additional connecting suites. Estate Suites measure 1,700 square feet.

Environmental Program

Since its early days of being adapted for use as a resort, the buildings of Jumby Bay have been constructed with the purpose of being respectful to the environment. All buildings make use of the most durable and proven materials for this climate, including plaster faced concrete and block walls, rot-resistant wood doors, windows and framing. The finish materials have also been chosen to maximize durability and reduced maintenance. The 300-acre island has also implemented one of the most advanced utility systems, including a power, desalination plant and sewer treatment, all of which are self-contained, in the Caribbean and produces its own electricity and water. The island conserves its environment with the same passion. The only forms of transport are golf cart and bicycle, and an island nursery propagates thousands of trees, exotic flowers and native plants. The plant debris from throughout the island is also composted locally. Great care is taken to ensure the reef is not endangered, and the beaches have been set-aside as protected nesting areas for the critically endangered Hawksbill turtle.

Beach

With four-and-a-half miles of pristine shoreline, Jumby Bay presides over some of the most spectacular — and fiercely protected — beaches in the Caribbean. The island's iconic half-mile stretch of beach is a gentle arc of white-powdered sand, fringed with palms and kissed by turquoise waters. Lined with thatched bohios under which guests can lounge in the shade on cushioned chaises, Jumby Bay Beach encapsulates everything about Jumby Bay's chilled-out charm. Alternatively, a sprinkling of hammocks, strung between the palms, beckons. Or a sun chair that invites you to dip your feet into the softly lapping sea. Or the Beach Bar, a traditional open bungalow that sits midway on the shore.

Beachfront Bar

Set directly on the sands of Jumby Bay Beach, and surrounded by a garden of towering palm trees, hibiscus and wild orchids, the Beach Bar is a traditional open bungalow with a thatched bohio that is the center of beach service. Cocktails, cold water and fresh towels are available. A raised hand brings a frosty glass of water, delicious daiquiri or tray bearing a selection of freshly made fruit sorbets, scrumptious ice-cream sandwiches or frappuccino's. Private dinners can be arranged for an intimate gathering, or a small group on the beach. Dedicated musical entertainment can be provided. A personal server, who can advise on wine pairings, presents an exclusive menu prepared by the chef.

Beachfront Restaurant

The Veranda is the heart and hub of Jumby Bay Island. Here one finds the casually-chic Jumby Bay Bar & Lounge, where enticing small plates and cool cocktails are served near a communal fire pit steps from Jumby Bay's white sands. Nearby, The Jumby Bay Veranda welcomes guests daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner — not to mention a sumptuous afternoon tea and weekly White Night Beach Barbecue Party. A generous breakfast is available with choices of a la carte specialties, and a continental selection with fresh breads and pastries. Golf Nearby

The beautifully constructed Cedar Valley Golf Course was designed and built by Ralf Aldridge, opening with just 9 holes in 1970 and completed its 18 holes course in 1977 as Antigua's sole 18 holes championship Golf Course. This beautiful par 70, 6157-yds golf course lies amidst mature tropical tree vistas on hills and the Caribbean Sea, providing an enjoyable and challenging game of golf. Antigua is a world-class sailing destination, with the longest-running regatta in the Caribbean. Catamaran

Jumby Bay utilizes a fleet of various private catamarans, from the private ferry that whisks guests to and from the island, to the resort's custom-built 45-foot luxury yacht, "Yennecot".

Antigua sport fishing charters are available for four, six and eight hour charters. Departure times are flexible.

With Sea-To-Table, guests have the chance to enjoy a private sport fishing charter to catch their own entrée of the day. Guests can troll for Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Marlin, Tuna and King Fish with a professional crew while enjoying cooled beverages and a freshly prepared lunch. That evening, the resort's talented culinary team prepares the day's catch according to guests' preferences and serves at a private Chef's Table.

Scuba Diving

The resort can arrange diving trips and eco-tours further out into Antigua's waters, which are known for their well-preserved coral reefs, teeming with marine life.

Sunset Cruise

Conservancy Activities

Jumby Bay Island is the site of the Hawksbill Turtle Program, a privately funded research project sponsored by island residents. The program celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2016, making it the longest-running scientific study of its kind. Each year, Hawksbills return to nest on the resort's Pasture Bay Beach, a protected nesting area that has been drawing the now-endangered sea turtles since the age of the dinosaurs. Embracing our love of West Indian cuisine, the Beach Shack invites guests to enjoy a local yet authentic food experience in a casual and relaxing atmosphere on the sands of Jumby Bay Beach. Inspired by the colorful West Indian-style food shacks found in small villages throughout Antigua, the Beach Shack offers delicious local street food, such as lobster or chicken wraps/rotis, locally caught fish, ceviche and much more. The Beach Shack is open for informal grab-and-go Caribbean lunch.
The Pool Grille

With its spectacular beachside setting, skirting the oceanfront infinity pool that overlooks the Caribbean Sea, the Pool Grille is perfect for those who can't bear to leave the water's edge. Serving casual bistro fare for lunch (salads, sandwiches, grilled seafood specialties), in addition to house snacks and refreshing cocktails, smoothies and fresh fruit juices throughout the day, sunbathers can choose to dine under the shaded canopy or order from their lounger.
The Jumby Bay Veranda

The Veranda is the heart and hub of Jumby Bay Island. Here one finds the casually-chic Jumby Bay Bar & Lounge, where enticing small plates and cool cocktails are served near a communal fire pit steps from Jumby Bay's white sands. Nearby, The Jumby Bay Veranda welcomes guests daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner — not to mention a sumptuous afternoon tea and weekly White Night Beach Barbecue Party.

A generous breakfast is available with choices of a la carte specialties, and a continental selection with fresh breads and pastries. Lunch and dinner offerings transport guests to a seaside Italian trattoria, highlighting home-made pastas from fluffy and light gnocchi, to rustic tagliatelle, and fresh seafood and meat enhanced with Jumby Bay Farm's own herbs and produce. The Veranda's display kitchen hosts special events including hands-on culinary classes. With panoramic views, and the soothing Caribbean surf steps away, the open-air restaurant offers a refined culinary experience elevated with the passion of Italian cuisine and the rhythm of the island and ocean.
The Beach Bar

Set directly on the sands of Jumby Bay Beach, and surrounded by a garden of towering palm trees, hibiscus and wild orchids, the Beach Bar is a traditional open bungalow with a thatched bohio that is the center of beach service. Cocktails, cold water and fresh towels are available. A raised hand brings a frosty glass of water, delicious daiquiri or tray bearing a selection of freshly made fruit sorbets, scrumptious ice cream sandwiches or frappuccinos. Private dinners can be arranged for an intimate gathering, or a small group on the beach. Dedicated musical entertainment can be provided. A personal server, who can advise on wine pairings, presents an exclusive menu prepared by the chef.
The Estate House

The Estate House is the top fine-dining destination in the Caribbean, combining classic fare with modern island flavors, drawing on the culinary traditions of the West Indies. Signature dishes include Monkfish and black trumpet casserole with crispy jasmine rice pancake; Spiny lobster with Armagnac flambé, tomato, saffron pearl, and sea urchin; and Black sea bass with potato confit. For dessert, sweet indulgences include Rum Baba with berry compote and preserved citrus and Baked Alaska with rum flambé and Antiguan black pineapple. The circa 1830 plantation house, once the centerpiece of the island's sugar plantation, reopened in November 2016 following a one-year, six-million-dollar restoration. The new Estate House includes a main restaurant and the 1830 Bar with three new private dining rooms as well as a wine room all inspired by the home's rich history and island traditions. Richly combining the impressions of a traditional colonial home with a contemporary perspective, The Estate House's redesign, led by acclaimed designer Dennis Irvine, represents a modern interpretation of the Colonial spirit. Retaining historical elements of the original structure, the redesign pays homage to The Estate House's roots in empire-era glamour with subtle nods to the island's history and traditions throughout. A two-story, vaulted ceiling provides a dramatic entryway to the bar, while an airy courtyard, connecting the main restaurant, three private dining rooms, and the Wine Room, serve as an idyllic outdoor lounge space to savor pre or post dinner drinks amongst tropical plants and a fountain made by a local artist. Curated local artwork depicting local Antiguan life, flora, and fauna, and vintage maps adorn the walls, while sophisticated tableware and accessories offer a refined dining experience. Inspired by the island's verdant landscape, a color palette of rich greens have been employed, and hand-crafted furnishings in ebony, teak, rattan, and wicker will emulate the style of past travelers and explorers. Sweeping terraces will offer unparalleled views of the island landscape. The design of The Estate House's three private dining rooms – The Map Room, The Tent Room, and the Blue Room – embody different facets of the island's character. The Map Room personifies wanderlust and discovery through carefully curated objects and antique maps from the golden age of exploration. The Blue Room features hand painted trompe l'oeil island scenes and rich blues inspired by the twilight sky. Draped fabric ceiling and walls in the Tent Room create a romantic Empire Era dining experience.
1830 Bar

A celebration of empire-era grandeur Upon arrival, guests are transported to a world of colonial elegance in 1830 bar. Situated within the old plantation house and retaining historical elements of the original structure, the bar features a color palette of rich green tones inspired by the verdant island landscape. Whimsical palm murals that have adorned the walls for over thirty years have been thoughtfully restored. Furniture and fixtures incorporate traditional materials such as teak and rattan to emulate the style of past travelers and explorers. Guests can also relax in the courtyard, an outdoor lounge space to savor pre or post dinner drinks amongst tropical plants and a commissioned fountain carved into the shape of a "Turk's head" cactus by a local artisan. Native Antiguan, Seon, has long been a fixture on Jumby Bay Island, sharing not only his talents as a world-class mixologist, but also his knowledge of the intriguing and in some cases hauntingly peculiar local folklore. Cocktails at 1830 are refreshing, making use of local tropical fruits, honey, and West Indian spices to enliven classic and obscure cocktails with a modern twist.
The Pool Grille Bar

Along the northern most point of Jumby Bay Beach, the Pool Grille offers a sun-worshipper's haven. Serving lunch daily, it is the perfect place for an inspired dip in the infinity pool before taking to the shade or chaise lounge overlooking the unique sand bar that extends from the beach. In addition to refreshing cocktails, the Pool Grille Bar proffers chilled fruits, smoothies, and home-made ice-cream sandwiches to help beat the heat along Jumby Bay Beach and the Pool Grille point.
